After Debbie's son, Joseph was diagnosed with autism, she felt the need to raise awareness about the disorder and become an advocate through her writing. Doing research and conversations with her older son Jonathan, she discovered that siblings sometimes feel alone after a diagnosis of autism. There is little focus on their thoughts and emotions, and they are are forced to cope alone.

He's My Brother was written with the intent of bringing awareness to this situation in addition to supplying information about autism.

WOW! Authors, Can You Believe this! >Facebook Wants a Cut of eBook Sales on Its Social Network by Nate Hoffelder, IN A NUTSHELL!

Facebook Wants a Cut of eBook Sales on Its Social Network
 by Nate Hoffelder

Authors and publishers have been selling books on Facebook for over six years now by setting up shops with 3rd-party services, and now Facebook wants to get into the act.

Buzzfeed reports that Facebook has finally woken up to the idea that commerce is possible any place where people congregate:

The company is building out shops within Facebook Pages, essentially mini e-commerce sites that give businesses a chance to set up second homes within its walls. The shops are still in the testing phase, but some already feature “buy” buttons that allow the entire shopping experience to occur within Facebook — from product discovery to checkout.

“With the shop section on the page, we’re now providing businesses with the ability to showcase their products directly on the page,” Facebook product marketing manager Emma Rodgers told BuzzFeed News.

If it works, bringing storefronts directly to Facebook Pages could have a transformative effect on online commerce, as retailers embrace the platform not just to inform their customers, but to sell directly to them. That's interesting, but not for the reason everyone thinks.

Bullies: Small People

Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great. ~Mark Twain

A lot of young people and adults have a good idea of what bullying is because they see it every day.

The adult bullies do all the things most people do who are decent people, BUT they bully others who do not fit into their circle of friends, relatives, and those they grew up with. They make fun of, shout and stare at, imitate, use ethnic and sexual slurs and lie about others, and teach all this to their children.

Some of the reasons bullies pick on others are to make their friends laugh, make themselves feel power over others and show others they are someone to be feared. Their victims say they are treated to their bullying on the streets, in stores and even, YES, in church. Bullies tell others their lies about those they bully to get new followers, (more none thinkers  for themselves people,) to join them. They are a tribe.  Tribe : any aggregate of people united by ties of descent from a common ancestor, community of customs and traditions, adherence to the same leaders, etc. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/tribe
Bullying happens when someone is hurt or scare by another person or group of people on purpose and the person being bullied has a hard time defending himself or herself. These bullies do it to the same people over and over. We all have heard of young people and some adults who have killed themselves over being bullied. The victims sometimes need to get away and this seems to be the only way out for them.
IF YOU ARE BEING BULLIED know you're not alone. There are people everywhere going through the same things you do every day.  It's HARD to imagine BUT True. Bullies are small people.

Sherlock Holmes - The Case Study ~Reblogged from: Bookish Quotes

Reblogged from: Bookish Quotes   http://bookquotes.booklikes.com/post/1194546/sherlock-holmes-the-case-study

I don't know anyone who doesn't know or like Sherlock Holmes. This sophisticated gentleman gained more respect and likeliness than any other know fictional detective regardless of how irritating, stubborn and sassy guy he is. Well, who doesn't like intelligent and witty badass boys? ;-)

Adam Frost and Jim Kynvin from The Guardian looked through Sherlock's adventures and ended up with impressive number of data presented in elegant infographics. Love them! To see all click here.
